While this band (and all blackgaze) might be really divisive for metalheads, to be fair and objective this is a pretty good album. It's a lot less consistent than Island - tracks 2, 3, & 5 just feel like songs that don't work. Maybe the band needed more time to find better ideas in their songwriting process. Anyway, track 4 is really solid and the high point for me (not surprised considering the cover art).
