지금이야 Helloween의 세례를 받은 Power Metal 밴드들이 씬을 지배하고 있지만, 80년대 중반까지만해도 이는 상상도 할 수 없었다. 당시에만 해도 Helloween 못지 않은 밴드였던 Running Wild가 건재했다. 아니, 어떤 면에서는 Running Wild가 Helloween보다 더 나았다고 볼 수도 있다. 왜냐하면 이들은 상업적인 성공을 거둔 밴드이기 때문이다. 데뷔 앨범부터 20만 장이나 팔렸을 정도로 Running Wild의 시작은 순조로웠다. 현재에 이르러서는 음악적인 영향력 면에서 Helloween과 워낙 심한 격차를 보이고 있지만, 초기에만 해도 Running Wild쪽이 좀더 나은 사정이었다. 음악적인 색채에서는 Helloween에 비해 좀더 무게감이 실린 멜로딕한 Thrash Metal을 지향했는데, 아마도 이 방향이 좀더 많은 사람들의 호감을 샀던 것 같다. 이들의 두 번째 앨범 역시도 전작보다 좀더 팔리는 등의 성과를 거두었다. 하지만 본작은 그런 상업적인 결과보다는 이후, Running Wild 특유의 호방한 멜로디의 파워 메탈 형식의 원형을 보이고 있다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다. 다소 단조로운 리프와 멜로디 라인이지만, Branded and Exiled에서 이들 최고의 히트작인 Port Royal과 Death or Glory의 흔적을 찾기는 쉬운 편이다. 사실 데뷔 앨범은 단순한 멜로딕 스래쉬 메탈에 지나지 않았다. 그러 ... Branded and Exiled album is not great but normal There was nothing in it that attracted the listener

Running Wild play rather fast and somewhat dark Heavy Metal, but it never gets close to Thrash or even Speed levels here. The release ends up being rather average.

druhé album (celkom krátke) je tiež odlišné od ich neskoršej tvorby, ale čiastočne aj odlišné od debutu, viac v štýle tradičného heavy metalu ovplyvneného legendou Judas Priest
