코지 파웰, 닐 머레이, 글렌 휴즈, 돈 에어리등 브리티쉬 락계에서 한가닥 하는 인물들이 모여 만든 프로젝트성 컨셉 앨범이다. 음악은 헤비메탈이라기 보단 키보드사운드가 첨가된 파퓰러한 브리티쉬 하드락인데 당시 전성기라고 생각되는 글렌 휴즈의 멋들어진 목소리와 코지옹의 육중한 드럼사운드를 영접할 수 있다는 것 만으로도 가치는 충분하다고 생각한다!
특히 4번트랙인 Phoenix Rising은 언제 들어도 비장미 넘치는 킬링 트랙으로 글렌 휴즈의 소울풀한 보컬역량이 돋보인다.
이후로도 80년대가 저물기 전에 2집 Dream Runner와 3집 Inner Vision을 발매했고 2006년엔 4집 Psycho Fantasy도 발매됐지만 1집의 멤버들 지명도나 음악성을 따라잡기엔 역부족이었지만 꽤 알찬 하드락을 들려줬다.

Awesome album. If you havn't heard Phenomena yet and you're a fan of 80's hard rock... grab this and 1987's Dream Runner. Both exceptional albums.
