사실 이런 커버 앨범은 안 듣고 넘기기가 일쑨데, Ozzy Osbourne은 개인적으로 매우 아끼는 뮤지션인지라 한번 들어봤다. 처음 커버 곡들 목록을 보고 들은 생각은 Ozzy Osbourne이 부르기에는 너무 안 어울리지 않나 싶었다. John Lennon이나 Buffalo Springfield, Beatles, Moody Blues의 곡들을 제대로 소화할 수 있을지는 솔직히 의문이었다. Ozzy Osbourne의 아티스트로서의 실력을 우려하기보다는 그동안 그가 걸어온 음악여정이 원곡의 주인공들과는 길이 너무나 달랐다. 그러나 막상 이 앨범을 들어보니 그러한 걱정은 기우에 불과했다는 사실을 깨닫게 되었다. 예상 이상으로 커버의 질은 상당히 괜찮았다. 안 어울릴 것이라고만 생각했던 곡들은 Ozzy Osbourne의 목소리와 위화감이 거의 느껴지지 않는다. 그러나 앨범에서 가장 인상적인 곡들은 역시 그와 어느정도 뿌리가 근접한 밴드의 곡들이었다. Mountain의 Mississippi Queen이나 Cream의 Sunshine of your Love는 이 앨범에서 가장 잘 된 커버라 할 수 있을 것이다. 원래 이 밴드들은 Hard Rock 밴드였으니만큼 Ozzy Osbourne도 다른 곡들보다 유독 잘 어울린다. 원곡들이 Heavy Metal 사운드의 근원에 속하는지라 여타의 곡들에는 조금의 위화감이 남아있는 것에 반해 이 두 곡은 그러한 위화감이 없다. 오지형님의 주술적이면서도 기묘한 분위기를 자아내는 마성의 보컬을 정말 좋아하는 사람으로서, 이 작품은 굉장히 가치있게 느껴집니다. 원곡 자체도 멋진 명곡들을 오지의 보컬로 듣는 즐거움이 큽니다. 특히 2번, 12번 같은 비틀즈, 존레논의 노래는 오지의 목소리로 들을때의 느낌이 너무나도 잘어울립니다. 이런 커버 음반을 두어장 정도 더 내줬으면 합니다.
