중남미의 블랙메탈이나 데스메탈 또는 블랙/데스 메탈 사운드는 드라이한 사운드보다는 음습하거나 음험한 느낌을 주는 사운드가 많다. 아무래도 Sarcofago같은 밴드의 영향이 강해서 그런지는 몰라도 말이다. 공격적이고 날카로운 사운드보다는 좀 묵직하고 음침한 사운드 분위기 연출을 많이 하고 있다. 사실 그러한 사운드가 주를 이루고 있어서 중남미 블랙메탈, 데스메탈을 듣는 맛이 있다. 미국이나 유럽 데스메탈 사운드와는 좀 다른 독특한 느낌이 있어서 듣는 재미가 괜찮은 것 같다.

2008년도에 결성한 Morbid Macabre역시 콜롬비아 출신의 블랙/데스메탈 밴드로 전형적인 중남미식 스타일의 블랙/데스메탈을 들려주고 있다. 전체적으로 낮고 묵직한 리프를 기반으로 상당히 음침한 사운드를 들려주고 있다. 그렇다고 일관적인 사운드로 쭈욱 내달리는 스타일은 아니라, 적절한 틈에 브레이킹을 주면서 적절하게 완급조절을 하고 있다는 점이 다른 블랙/데스메탈 밴드와 좀 다른 점이라면 다른 점이라고 할 수 있다. 전체적인 앨범의 메인 리프는 디스토션을 강하게 걸어서 좀 더 음험한 분위기를 연출했고, 공격적인 사운드의 핵심을 드럼 사운드로 무게를 맞추면서 공격적인 면모도 보여주고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 중간중간 샘플 ...
