Rhspdody, Secret Sphere, Skylark 등과 함께 이탈리아 Melodic Power Metal 씬을 대표하는 Labyrinth의 세 번째 정규작, Sons Of Thunder 이다. 시종일관 스피디한 연주를 들려주었던 Return To Heaven Denied 앨범과 비교해 적절한 완급조절이 가미된 짜임새 있는 구성력이 돋보인다. EP 앨범인 Timeless Crime에 수록되었던 곡으로 약간의 편곡을 가한 Save Me 등이 수록되어 있다. 본작을 끝으로 데뷔시절부터 함께 해온 기타리스트 Olaf Thorsen가 탈퇴하여 5인조로 라인업이 정비되며, 레이블을 Century Media로 옮겨 2003년에 4집 앨범 Labyrinth를 발표한다.

"Sons of Thunder" is much heavier, less melodic and more progressive than the previous few Labyrinth albums. The production is a bit rough around the edges. And because of the fact that the songs don't really follow the typical power metal song structure formula means that this will definately take time to grow on the listener.

단조로운 패턴을 탈피하여 적당한 완급조절을 보여주는 파워메탈 작품이다. 키보드 연주를 효과적으로 잘 사용하고 있는 것이 특징이다. 수록된 곡들의 개성은 다소 약한 편이지만 장르에 대한 이해도와 표현력이 괜찮은 편이다. 무난하게 감상할 수 있는 작품 중 하나이며 개인적으로는 스피드한 곡들에서 보컬 녹음이 살짝 아쉽게 들린다.

달릴 때와 걸을 때의 호흡 균형이 잘 맞춰져 있고, 변박자 패턴도 자연스럽게 전개됩니다. 곡의 도입부마다 특색 있는 키보드 연주는 인상적이지만, 나머지 연주는 다 비슷비슷한 것이 아쉽습니다. 7, 8번 트랙 들을만 합니다.

odlišný od úspešného predchodcu, je o niečo tvrdšie, možno menej hitové, ale stále kvalitné. Zaujalo ma až po viacerých vypočutiach (úprimne po kúpe albumu som bol najprv sklamaný, čo po napočúvaní pominulo). Štýl: naďalej Melodický Power/Heavy Metal
