스웨덴 출신 Melodic Death Metal 밴드 Gates of Ishtar의 마지막 정규 앨범. Gates of Ishtar는 한창 활동할 때 그렇게까지 주목받는 밴드는 아니었다. 그러나 유명세와는 별개로 이들의 작품은 상당한 퀄리티를 지니고 있었다. 이들과 가장 가까운 성향의 데스 메탈 밴드로는 장르의 개척자인 At the Gates를 들 수 있겠다. 이전에도 Gates of Ishtar는 뛰어난 앨범을 만들어 왔지만 그 작품들은 At the Gates의 아류에 지나지 않았다. 하지만 그들은 밴드 활동 최후의 순간에 At the Gates의 대작 Slaughter of the Soul에 맞먹는 걸작을 만들어내는 저력을 과시했다. Gates of Ishtar의 마지막 스튜디오 앨범 역시 Slaughter of the Soul만큼이나 간결하고 명료하며, 직설적인 사운드들 담고 있다. 그러나 마지막 앨범을 제작하는 시점에 접어들어까지도 밴드의 아이덴티티는 끝내 정립되지 못했다. 밴드는 결국 At the Gates에서 시작해서 At the Gates로 밴드 활동을 끝마쳤다고 할 수 있다. 이점이 동시대에 활동했던 멜로딕 데스 메탈씬을 주도했던 밴드들과 Gates of Ishtar의 결정적인 차이였다. z môjho pohľadu je toto ich najlepšie a najpestrejšie album. Naďalej pokračujú v Melodickom Death Metal -e (obsahuje ich najlepšiu pieseň "Battles to Come", avšak pridali občas aj epické a doom prvky - najviac je to počuť vo výbornej inštrumentálke "Forever Beach"

그럴싸하고 아기자기하며 멜데스 역사적으론 가치가 있는 앨범이지만, 나 듣기엔 지극히 펑범하고 야마없는 멜로디가 참 별로...
