데뷔앨범이었던 [Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic)]보다는 사뭇 분위기가 바뀐 첫 EP이다. 오히려 본작이 더욱 Black Metal스러운데 Keyboard가 빠진 상태라 더욱 사악하고 공격적인 면이 부각되었다. 굉장히 날카로운 Melody와 탄탄한 구성에 받쳐주는 완급조절, 그리고 무엇보다 Middle Tempo곡인 'Forgotten Empire of Dark Witchcraft'를 제외한 모든 수록곡 후렴에서 흘러나오는 Guitar Solo가 단연 압권이라고 생각이 든다. 특히 'Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic)'과 'Pure Evil and Hate'에서 뻗어져 나오는 Solo는 굉장한 카타르시스를 느끼게 할 정도로 온 몸에 차가운 광기를 뒤덮게 한 느낌이다.
굉장히 안정적이고 흠 잡을 때가 없는 'Transylvanian Forest', 'Moonspell Rites'는 단연 귀에 자연스럽게 들어오는 곡들이고, Thrash Metal이 떠올려질 만큼 굉장히 Punk스러움이 느껴지는 곡 'Pure Evil and Hate'이 본작에서 제일 막강한 곡이라고 생각한다. 아쉬운 점은 'Sventevith (Storming Near The Baltic)'의 첫소절 Riff가 귀에 잘 들어오지 않았는데, 다행히도 그 다음 절 Riff가 다 커버해준덕에 들을 만하게 되었고, 마지막 곡인 'Forgotten Empire of Dark Witchcraft'은 좀 구성이 지루했다. 분명 나쁘지 않은 Melody를 뽑아줬지만, 너무 한결 같이 지나가버려 '무언가 더 있겠지'라는 기대를 저버리게 되었다. ... 2000년대의 데스메탈 밴드 베헤모스를 듣다가, 문든 생각나서 간만에 다시 찾아본 90년대 블랙메탈 밴드 베헤모스의 첫번째 ep. 데스메탈도 잘하고 블랙메탈도 잘하고 못하는게 없는, 그야말로 불경스러운 메탈에 일가견이 있는 네르갈입니다. 양쪽 장르를 다 손대본 밴드는 이들 뿐이 아니지만, 양쪽 다 수준급의 결과물을 냈던 밴드는 이들 뿐이지 않은가 합니다.
